Born in 1967 in Zagreb, Croatia, Vedran Peternel has been living in Paris, France, since 1979, exploring different aspects of sound as a form of an artistic expression.

As a FOH engineer, Peternel has collaborated on projects with such bands as:

  • Dirty Three (European tour with PJ Harvey), and
  • Theo Hakola (French and European tours, European tour with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds).

As a studio sound engineer and producer, with :

  • Dirty Three on the album Lowlands
  • Ezekiel on the albums Barbary and Naphtaline
  • High Tone on the album Bass Temperature
  • Hurleurs on the album Ciel d’Encre
  • Warren Ellis (Dirty Three, Grinderman, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) on a Cadbury’s Flake advert

As a musician and producer with:

  • Darko Rundek Cargo Orkestar, recording, mixing and co-producing albums Ruke and Mhm Aha Oh Yeah Da Da (published by Piranha Musik – Berlin, and distributed in 25 countries)as well as performing the same material live, among many other places in Europe, at Centre Pompidou

As a sound art pedagogue with:

  • Le FAIR (Fonds d’action et d’initiative rock), action fund created in 1989 at the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture,  coaching young French bands in recording and mixing techniques
  • Pulsart organization, engaged in multimedia workshops with troubled adolescents in French prisons and halfway houses.

Vedran Peternel hosted and edited the music show Telegram on the French International Radio (RFI) for more than 15 years, and is the co-author and sound designer of radio-documentaries:

Peternel was also the audio consultant for the Who is Mr. Waxman, an audio novel by Barbara Browning, as well as a sound designer for:

  • Marat/Sade, a production of the Ulysses Theatre founded by Rade Serbedzija on Brijuni Islands in Croatia
  • War – Memento mori, a documentary about the painter Edo Murtić commissioned by Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, Croatia

In 2005, Peternel started a multi-annual collaboration with the writer and dramaturge Ivana Sajko on the project Autoreferential readings, sound designing and performing lectures of the author’s work.

In 2007 he composed and performed music for her play Archetype : Medea  (Trilogy : Medea, Women-Bomb, Europe – Zagreb Youth Theatre, Croatia) and in 2010 he composed the music, sound designed and performed the production of her play Rose is a rose, is a rose, is a rose (Zagreb Youth Theatre & Istrian National Theatre, Croatia).

In 2010 Vedran’s French non-profit organization KAAN merged with Croatian SKROZ collective, and he has been creating performing arts projects for it ever since: from @BetaSkroz, to theatrical productions for children and young audiences La Poule aux oeufs d’or and La belette entrée dans un grenier, to the most recent one – Forrest, Timber, Hardly, Quite after Nin Andrews’ Book of Orgasms.

Nora Krstulović was educated as a theatre director but, with a background in IT and management, she has over the years taken a number of management positions within the theatre & film community in Croatia.

Nora is also the founder and Editor-In-Chief of the Teatar.hr the largest performing arts web magazine (2002 – present) in Eastern Europe, and was the Editor-In-Chief of film magazine  Filmski.net (2007 – 2008) and Croatian cultural events monthly Sonda (2007 – 2008). She was a columnist for the Croatian political weekly magazine Forum (2011. – 2012.), and continues to be a contributor to a large number of regional publications.

Nora was a mentor at one of the most important festivals for young playwrights in Europe, Interplay Europe (2006), and to this day is a guest lecturer at the Academy of Drama Arts in Zagreb teaching a class in communication strategies, as well a lecturer for the  Education and Teacher Training Agency, a public institution responsible for the provision of professional and advisory support in the area of general education in Croatia.

However, she claims her true calling is in performing arts, and to prove it she has directed and produced (*) a large number of performances including:

In 2005 with dramaturge Maja Sviben, Nora founded the art collective SKROZ.

Since 2010 all of her performing arts projects have been produced by SKROZ  as the result of a creative partnership with Vedran Peternel, including @BetaSkroz, several productions for children and young audiences like La Poule aux oeufs d’or and La belette entrée dans un grenier, and most recently – Forrest, Timber, Hardly, Quite after Nin Andrews’ Book of Orgasms.
